3rd May - Ideal mushroom environment

My Oyster mushroom spores have taken over the substrate and is now ready to start growing. They have become temperamental and in an ideal world where time is not an issue i would have multiple crops all growing similar strains and allows me leeway to let the failed ones die and bud anew. This would let help grow my understanding in the best ways to transport and cultivate the crop and apply it to the structures and form i want them to inhabit.

As I'm in student accommodation, I've been looking for the ideal dark and damp space to let the mushrooms flourish.

I tried a cupboard in the kitchen - too dry and fluctuates in temperature too much.

I tried by the toilet in my bathroom - good temp and humidity except theres an automatic light so i cant make it stay dark when i want to.

I then found a boiler room at the bottom of the building- perfect temp, good humidity and theres a dark corner behind box and cupboards thats ideal to propagate the fungi.

I now just need time and consistent check ups to make sure it grows evenly and and there aren't any foreign bacteria or fungal matter that could interfere with the progress of the oyster shrooms.
